MID-LEVEL CIVIL ENGINEER

Catalyst Design Group is currently seeking a full-time Civil Engineering professional to join our team in any of our three office locations (Nashville, Murfreesboro, Orlando). The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Project Manager in a team environment and will be responsible for the preparation of site civil construction documents and related tasks for projects across a variety of market sectors and locations.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of due diligence/site analysis

  • Preparation of conceptual/schematic site plans including layout, grading and drainage plans, earthwork calculations, stormwater management, and utility plans

  • Preparation of construction documents including demolition plans, layout plans, erosion control plans, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management, utilities, site details, transportation improvements, and project cost estimates/analysis, etc.

  • Preparation of engineering or technical computations and design solutions

  • Preparation of reports

  • Perform permitting assistance and coordination efforts

  • Collection and characterization of field data

  • Observation of construction or site work

  • Communication with internal and external clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in: AutoCAD/Civil 3D; Microsoft Office Suite; engineering modeling software preferred (ICPR v4, Hydraflow, etc.)

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required

  • Must have Professional Engineer’s (P.E.) license or be eligible within 3 years

  • 4-6 years’ experience in civil engineering or related field is required

  • Experience with site/land development projects, stormwater & utility design, and permitting

  • Previous exposure to stormwater and utility modeling programs

  • Knowledge of Florida regulatory processes (if applying to work in Orlando office)

  • Well-organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, and listening), and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and interface well in a collaborative project team environment

  • Candidate will interact positively and effectively with people in all levels of the organization
