Catalyst Design Group Celebrates 9 Years of Providing Planning, Civil Engineering, and Landscape Architecture

While much of the United States looked to the skies for the historic solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, Catalyst Design Group opened its doors and began an exciting new chapter. What started as a shared vision among our founding principals has grown into an innovative, interdisciplinary firm providing planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services throughout the Southeast. Nine years later, we are proud to celebrate an incredible milestone: growing from five employees to 62 team members across four office locations while remaining committed to the same values that inspired Catalyst from the beginning. Catalyst was founded on the belief that there is a better approach to design collaboration, one that blends disciplines, encourages open communication, and develops creative solutions tailored to each client's goals. Today, that philosophy continues to guide everything we do.

Over the past nine years, our team has had the privilege of helping shape communities through projects that range from parks and trails, streetscapes, and civic spaces to multifamily communities, commercial developments, healthcare facilities, hospitality destinations, and educational campuses. With offices in Nashville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Orlando, Catalyst has expanded its reach while maintaining a culture built on responsiveness, collaboration, and a passion for thoughtful design. Our planners, civil engineers, and landscape architects work side-by-side from project inception through construction, creating solutions that are functional, innovative, and context-sensitive. Whether we're designing a new park, advancing a mixed-use development, creating a complete street, or helping a community envision its future, we remain focused on understanding our clients' needs and delivering lasting value.

As we celebrate our ninth anniversary, we are grateful for the clients, partners, communities, and team members who have been part of our story. Your trust and collaboration have helped transform Catalyst from a small startup into a growing firm of 62 professionals serving projects across multiple states and markets. While much has changed since 2017, our mission remains the same: to provide authentic, innovative, and reliable planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture services that help our clients achieve their goals.   Catalyst Design Group’s Nashville, TN office opened in 2017, followed in 2020 by its Murfreesboro, TN office. In 2021, Catalyst opened its Orlando, FL office. Most recently, Catalyst expanded in Tennessee with its Franklin location in 2025.
