Construction underway on new Gainesville Hospital

(HCA FLORIDA HEALTHCARE)

May 9, 2024

On May 9, HCA celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Florida Gainesville Hospital. Catalyst worked with HKS, Inc. and provided civil engineering and landscape architectural services for the $231 state-of-the-art healthcare facility, a significant expansion in the state’s leading network of healthcare facilities. Slated to open in early 2026, this new hospital will significantly enhance the existing HCA Florida Gainesville Emergency Room, adding comprehensive services such as surgical departments, a catheterization lab, medical and surgical beds, an in-patient rehabilitation unit, and advanced imaging capabilities. This project reflects HCA Florida Healthcare’s dedication to delivering high-quality care to the North Central Florida community and is expected to bring significant economic benefits, including job creation and increased business activity in the Gainesville area.
