Crystal Lake Park Trail Breaks Ground in Lake Wales

October 20, 2026

Construction is officially underway on the Crystal Lake Park Trail in Lake Wales. The new 3,200-foot asphalt multiuse trail will create a continuous loop around Crystal Lake when connected to the Park Avenue Connector Trail and will feature a scenic lake overlook with outdoor seating, historic-style lamp posts, and native landscaping. A segment of Third Street behind the Lake Wales Public Library will also be reconstructed as a 12-foot-wide trail with a Victorian garden planned along the west side.

Catalyst has worked with the City on the Crystal Lake Park Trail, providing master planning, public involvement and schematic design services. The trail is part of a larger network planned to improve connections between Lake Wales' neighborhoods, parks and downtown while connecting with the Lake Wailes Trailway and planned FDOT SUN Trail network
