Santa Rosa Medical Center Freestanding Emergency Department

Catalyst provided civil engineering and landscape architectural design services for CHS’s new single-story freestanding ED. The 10,920-SF facility was designed to provide emergency medical care to Santa Rosa County residents. Because the project’s three-acre site is located in the floodplain (in a Category 4 Storm Surge Zone), the team maintained close collaboration with Santa Rosa County to ensure all requirements for construction were met. Specifically, the team worked to ensure the facility’s floor sat at least two feet above the FEMA-determined 100-year floodplain elevation and adjusted grading for building footprint compliance.
