fisher center for the Performing Arts

With the goal of providing students access to stages that rival some of the finest in the world, Belmont University’s new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts completes the University’s campus performance facilities. The new facility houses a 1,700-seat multipurpose theater, a grand lobby, and two contiguous event spaces that can accommodate more than 900 guests (when combined with the lobby).

Construction of the Performing Arts Center (which stretches along Belmont Boulevard from Bernard Avenue to Compton Avenue) required the demolition of seven buildings and rerouting of Bernard Avenue, along with multiple public utility relocations and extensions. The new facility houses classical concerts, operas, musical theater performances, dance recitals, and commercial showcases.

Pursuing LEED certification, the project includes a green roof designed to assist with water quality filtration and other sustainable components throughout.
