Belmont University Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine

In conjunction with HCA Healthcare, Belmont University is launching its new College of Medicine with the design and construction of the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine.

Located at the intersection of 15th and Wedgewood Avenues, the new Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine will be appropriately nestled among the University’s existing nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, public health, and pharmacy programs.

The new 160,000-SF facility is expected to provide flexibility for new and changing technologies, equipment, and healthcare models. Large lecture spaces and learning studios will be complemented by high-tech simulation areas that utilize virtual and augmented reality as part of their simulated offerings. The design also includes a physical space that is dedicated to honoring inductees to the Tennessee Healthcare of Fame. Also included in the project is a 350-space underground parking garage.

HCA Healthcare’s Nashville-based TriStar Health will provide residencies and clinical rotations in support of Belmont’s plans to pursue Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation.

Upon completion, Belmont anticipates an inaugural class of 150 students, expanding to 500-600 students when the College of Medicine reaches full capacity.
