Lake Elbert Trail Completed Near Polk State Winter Haven

The City of Winter Haven celebrated its new Lake Elbert Trail with a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 22. Catalyst collaborated with Chastain Skillman | DCCM on landscape architectural services for the eight-foot wide, 2.4-mile trail, which encircles Lake Elbert and offers residents, students, and the community safe, scenic access to the lake, Polk State, a public boat ramp, and more. The design integrates various features, including a boardwalk and rain garden for stormwater treatment, enhanced site furnishings and landscaping, and roadway surface and drainage improvements, all of which contribute to a welcoming, multi-use trail that enhances connectivity and recreation in Winter Haven.
