Catalyst Helps Reimagine Chain of Lakes Park’s Historic Field

The City of Winter Haven recently celebrated the completion of major new additions to Chain of Lakes Park, marking an important milestone in the park’s ongoing transformation into a premier regional sports and recreation destination. The latest improvements include four synthetic turf baseball fields, a concession and restroom building, expanded parking, completion of the cross-site drive, and new walking trails that enhance connectivity throughout the 70-acre lakefront park. These enhancements support year-round tournament play, improve visitor amenities, and strengthen the park’s role as a hub for community recreation and sports tourism. Catalyst provided master planning and landscape architectural design, helping guide the vision for this phase and the overall park development.

The new facilities were officially unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city leaders, project partners, and community members, celebrating both the park’s historic legacy and its future. Chain of Lakes Park has been shaped through a phased master plan that began with the field house and aquatic center improvements and continues to emphasize open space and athletic facilities.
