Meharry Medical College Living and Learning Center

Representing “the future of Meharry—the great things to come” (Meharry Board of Trustees Chair Nelson Adams III, M.D. ’78), the college’s first Living and Learning Center provides a unique combination of student housing and academic space outside of the traditional classroom.

The new facility is located on the corner of Morena Street and 21st Avenue, on a 1.4-acre lot. Standing six stories tall, the new 156,360-SF residence hall opened in the fall of 2023 to accommodate an influx of students who prefer to live on campus. It features 126 one-bedroom apartments with spacious floor space, a fitness center, and teaching and learning spaces, allowing education beyond the traditional classroom.

This project was awarded ULI’s 2024 Excellence in Development Award.
