Daytona Plans Main Street Overhaul (Orlando Business Journal)
April 8, 2026
Daytona Beach is taking a major step toward redefining the future of its downtown core, and Catalyst is proud to be part of that transformation. As recently featured in The Orlando Business Journal, the City of Daytona Beach is advancing plans to reimagine Main Street with a focus on walkability, economic vitality, and a more inviting year‑round experience for residents and visitors alike.
Main Street is known for its seasonal influx of visitors during major events. City leaders and the Community Redevelopment Agency are now prioritizing redevelopment strategies that strengthen the corridor’s appeal beyond event‑driven activity, supporting local businesses, encouraging private investment, and creating a downtown environment that feels active, safe, and welcoming every day of the year.
Catalyst is providing landscape architecture services for the City of Daytona Beach’s Main Street Streetscape, contributing conceptual designs that place people first while respecting the corridor’s unique identity. The project spans approximately 3,000 linear feet across 11 blocks, extending through the heart of downtown and connecting the Halifax River to the Atlantic Ocean.
